City of Green Bay announces 2024 Mayor's Beautification Awards recipients

The city of Green Bay has announced the recipients of the 2024 Mayor's Beautification Awards, marking 55 years of recognizing exceptional contributions to the city's aesthetic enhancement. The announcement was made in a press release on March 31, 2025.

According to the city, the Mayor's Beautification Awards honor individuals, businesses, and organizations that have contributed to enhancing Green Bay's beauty. This year’s awardees include Shipyard, Brown County United Way City East Center, Ho-Chunk Heritage Mural, Downtown Green Bay, Inc., UW-Green Bay Cort Condon Hall, Legacy Green Bay, and Gentle Vet Animal Hospital. The Mayor’s Office congratulated all recipients for their dedication to beautifying the city.

"For 55 years, these awards have highlighted the remarkable work of our residents and organizations who go above and beyond to beautify our city," said Mayor Genrich. "Their efforts contribute to making Green Bay a more welcoming and enjoyable place for everyone. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment to our community."

Green Bay is located in northeastern Wisconsin with a population of 107,395. The city's economy is driven by industries such as agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, and transportation. It has a multi-modal transportation network including Metro Transit, highways, Austin Straubel International Airport, and the Port of Green Bay. Housing options are diverse with nearly full occupancy in both affordable and market-rate housing. According to the city of Green Bay, it offers 70 parks and trails as well as cultural venues like theaters and museums. The city focuses on development through public-private partnerships supported by tax increment districts and various grant programs.

Genrich has served as mayor since 2019 after three terms representing the 90th Assembly District in the Wisconsin State Assembly. A native of Green Bay, he earned degrees from UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee and previously worked in state and federal government as an IT librarian. His office is at Green Bay City Hall where he holds weekly open office hours. Requests for appearances or community support funds can be submitted through designated forms while media inquiries are handled separately.
