The Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge, located over the Fox River in Green Bay, Wisconsin, will undergo a temporary closure for maintenance purposes. The bridge is scheduled to be closed on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 3 a.m. until 2 p.m.
During this period, the bridge will be secured for masted navigation. However, vessels that can pass under the bridge are permitted to do so at any time.
Traffic disruptions are expected as the bridge on Dousman Street and Main Street over the Fox River will be closed east of the river at North Washington Street and west of the river at North Broadway.
A detour route has been established via North Broadway, East Walnut Street, and North Monroe Avenue. Despite these closures, access to residences and businesses in the area will remain available.
All closures and detours are contingent upon weather conditions and may change if necessary. Motorists should prepare for potential traffic delays and are advised to drive cautiously through the work zone or consider alternate routes.
"All closures, detours, and work operations are weather dependent and subject to change," authorities noted. "Motorists should anticipate backups, use caution while driving through the work zone, and are encouraged to find alternate routes."
