The City of Green Bay is actively recruiting lifeguards for the summer season of 2025. With less than a month remaining before the pools open, the city is looking for certified lifeguards and is also offering free training to suitable candidates. To qualify for certification, applicants must be at least 15 years old, pass a swim and object retrieval pre-test, and complete a course that includes skills tests and a written exam. No prior experience is required.
Ann Moeller, Green Bay Recreation Manager, highlighted the benefits of this opportunity: “To work outside all summer with their peers, while earning great pay, is a fantastic opportunity for youth in the area. Lifeguarding allows these staff members to contribute to their community and builds a strong skillset to add to future career and college applications.”
The starting pay for lifeguards in 2025 is $16.32 per hour. The city offers additional incentives such as full-time and flexible part-time schedules along with free uniforms.
Lifeguard positions are available at Colburn Pool located at 1025 S Fisk St, Joannes Aquatic Center at 1430 E Walnut St, and Resch Aquatic Center at 1058 Reed St in Green Bay.
Applications can be submitted online. For more information, interested individuals can contact Ann Moeller at (920) 448-3385 or via email at Ann.Moeller@greenbaywi.gov.
