The Green Bay Packers have partnered with Certor Sports and Ticketmaster to provide new helmets to 10 high school football programs in Wisconsin. On Wednesday, the Packers hosted three teams at Titletown for a volunteer day, lunch, and a surprise visit from former player Jarrett Bush. Bush presented each team with $7,500 worth of new helmets.
The event included student-athletes and coaches from Oshkosh North High School, Shiocton High School, and Winnebago Lutheran High School in Fond du Lac. These schools received their helmets as part of the Packers Helmet Give Back Program, an initiative under Packers Give Back. The program is supported by Certor Sports and Ticketmaster.
Seven other schools—Appleton West, Flambeau, Ladysmith, Madison La Follette, Milwaukee Obama, Shorewood-Messmer, and Regis—will also receive $7,500 worth of Schutt and VICIS helmets this summer. These helmets will either supplement or replace existing equipment.
Ryan Fencl, the Packers' football outreach manager, stated: "We're proud to partner with Certor Sports and Ticketmaster to provide new helmets to 10 Wisconsin high school football programs. Player safety is a priority, and this donation ensures that athletes competing for the recipient programs have the necessary equipment to safely take the field and pursue their dreams."
Over 120 coaches and athletic directors applied for new helmets this year. Many schools showed significant need for donated equipment due to limited budgets focused on purchasing essential gear like helmets.
Packers Give Back encompasses various community outreach efforts by the team. It includes contributions from the Green Bay Packers Foundation and involves players, alumni, coaches in community events. The initiative has an annual charitable impact exceeding $13 million.
