The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc. is set to honor three special award winners at the upcoming Packers Hall of Fame Induction Banquet on August 28 in the Lambeau Field Atrium. This year's event will not only induct Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy into the Hall of Fame but also recognize recipients of three distinguished awards.
Pepper Burruss, who dedicated 26 seasons to the Packers during his 42-year NFL career, will receive the Bob Harlan Leadership Award. The award honors former Packers President/CEO Bob Harlan for his exceptional leadership. Burruss joined the Packers in 1992 as head athletic trainer and was instrumental in modernizing their medical operations. He retired in 2019 after serving as director of sports medicine administration.
Mark Wagner, who led the Packers Ticket Office for four decades, will be honored with the Bart and Cherry Starr Recognition Award. A native of Door County, Wagner joined the organization in 1977 and became director of ticket operations in 1979 until his retirement in 2017. Under his leadership, several key initiatives were implemented, including enhanced security protocols and transitioning to online databases.
The Bud Lea Media Award will posthumously honor Ted Moore, a Wisconsin broadcast legend known for narrating some of the most significant moments in Packers history during the 1960s. Moore served as the voice of the Green Bay Packers from 1960-69 and called Super Bowls I and II on radio.
The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc., an independent nonprofit corporation, aims to preserve and expand its archives through events like this banquet. Established initially as a temporary display in 1967, it has evolved into a historic national sports venue located within Lambeau Field's Atrium since its reopening in August 2015.
