Rep. Tony Wied, a public figure known for his active engagement on social media, recently shared several updates via Twitter concerning a local sports achievement, national immigration policy, and legislative support for farmers.

On June 10, 2025, Rep. Wied congratulated Mitch Van Vooren, a native of Peshtigo, on achieving his aspiration of joining the NFL. He expressed pride in Van Vooren's accomplishment by stating "Last week, it was announced that Peshtigo native Mitch Van Vooren achieved his dream of being signed to play in the NFL. Congratulations Mitch! You have made all of us in Wisconsin's 8th District incredibly proud!"

Later that day, Rep. Wied addressed issues related to immigration policy and its enforcement at the southern border. He criticized current federal actions by saying "The idea that this chaos is the result of President Trump enforcing federal law is absolute nonsense. The chaos began when Joe Biden and the Democrats deliberately opened our southern border. We are a nation of laws and if you enter our country illegally, you will be deported."

In another tweet from June 10, 2025, Rep. Wied discussed legislative efforts aimed at supporting American farmers through proposed legislation referred to as "Our One Big Beautiful Bill." He highlighted its potential impact by stating "Our One Big Beautiful Bill will deliver real results for farmers across rural America. Our farmers work every single day to feed America and this bill allow us to support them by providing the tools they need to thrive!"
