Bellin's 2023 study on clinic layout design has received the EDRA CORE Award, recognizing its high standards in research methodology, innovation, and practical application. The study examined orthopedic and total joint service lines at Emplify Health by Bellin’s Clinics, comparing linear and pod configurations.
The research employed a mixed-methods approach, gathering data through observations, surveys, and interviews with staff and patients to evaluate various aspects of clinic layouts. “The study helped us see what configuration would best work for staff efficiency and patient satisfaction,” said Jen Macdonald, Senior Vice President of Specialty Services Lines at Emplify Health by Bellin. She noted that the pod configuration improved communication among staff while enhancing patient experiences.
