Green Bay Metro has announced enhancements to its GBM On Demand microtransit service, set to launch on July 1, 2025. The improvements aim to provide greater flexibility and accessibility for riders in the Green Bay area.
GBM On Demand allows users to request trips in real time, offering a more adaptable public transportation option. The service will now operate within a consolidated Daytime zone, available Monday through Friday from 5:15 am to 6:45 pm and on Saturdays from 7:45 am to 1:45 pm. Unlike traditional fixed-route services, GBM On Demand uses smaller vehicles for corner-to-corner service, making it easier for passengers to reach their destinations.
Riders can book trips using a smartphone app or by phone, ensuring the service is accessible to all users. Paratransit riders will also have access through the same GBM Transit app. "We’re excited to bring you a smoother, more connected transit experience," stated Green Bay Metro.
Key benefits of the relaunch include increased flexibility and convenience for riders, expanded trip options through the GBM Transit app, and enhanced accessibility for those with disabilities.
"Green Bay Metro is committed to providing reliable, accessible, and innovative transit options for our community," said Patty Kiewiz, Green Bay Metro Transit Director. "These changes reflect our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of Green Bay residents and visitors."
