The City of Green Bay has announced the availability of a Class B liquor license for application. This follows a decision by the City Council to release the license back into the available pool.
Applications will be accepted by the City Clerk's Office starting Wednesday, July 16th at 7:30 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants will receive numbers and only the first complete application will be accepted.
The total fee for the license is $600, with an initial $50 due upon submission and the remaining $550 payable when the license is ready for issuance. This applies to those seeking both a Class B liquor and beer combination or just needing the liquor component if they already hold a beer license. Processing takes two to three weeks from submission, with provisional licenses available for $15 during this period.
Applicants must provide several documents including an original alcohol beverage retail license application, auxiliary questionnaires, driver's licenses, appointment of agent form, responsible beverage server training certification, Wisconsin seller's permit, statement of intent, business security plan, floor plan, and proof of premises.
A Class B liquor license allows for retail sale of intoxicating liquor by glass for on-premises consumption in establishments like restaurants and bars. It also permits wine sales in original containers for off-premises consumption. There is a quota system in place for these licenses.
Interested parties should ensure their applications are complete and submit them promptly at the City Clerk's Office beginning July 16th at 7:30 a.m.
