The Green Bay Packers have announced the signing of wide receiver Will Sheppard and kicker Mark McNamee. The announcement was made by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Will Sheppard, a rookie standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 196 pounds, played college football at Vanderbilt from 2020 to 2023 and at Colorado in 2024. Over his college career, he participated in 55 games, achieving 200 receptions for a total of 2,688 yards with an average of 13.4 yards per reception and scoring 27 touchdowns. Additionally, Sheppard returned 18 punts for a total of 131 yards, averaging 7.3 yards per return. In the year 2022, he set personal records with 60 receptions, accumulating receiving yards of 776 and nine receiving touchdowns. These accomplishments earned him second-team All-Southeastern Conference honors from The Associated Press and third-team honors from Phil Steele's College Football. For the Packers, Sheppard will be wearing jersey number 82.
Mark McNamee is also a rookie who stands at 6 feet 4 inches and weighs in at 208 pounds. He joins the Packers through the NFL's International Player Pathway Program. Originally from Ireland, McNamee recently spent time with the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League before coming to Green Bay. He also took part in the NFL Scouting Combine this year. Before his involvement in American football, McNamee was a goalkeeper for Ballyboden St Endas in Dublin, Ireland's Gaelic football scene. He will wear jersey number 41 for the Packers.
