The Green Bay Public Works Department has announced that N Baird Street will be temporarily closed for utility work related to the regional sewer system. The closure is scheduled to take place between Cherry Street and Main Street from 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1.

The work is being carried out by NEW Water, which is the brand name for the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District.

A detour will be in place using Main Street, Webster Avenue, and E Walnut Street. Access to homes and businesses along N Baird Street will remain available during the closure. The department noted that all closures, detours, and work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and may change as needed. Drivers are advised to expect delays, exercise caution in the area, and consider alternate routes.

"Access to residences and businesses will be maintained. All closures, detours, and work operations are weather dependent and subject to change. Motorists should anticipate backups, use caution while driving through the work zone, and are encouraged to find alternate routes," according to the announcement from city officials.
