Rep. Tony Wied, who won the 2024 general election against Kristin Lyerly, has recently used his social media platform to comment on national security, congressional conduct, and local industry.

On August 13, 2025, Wied posted support for former President Donald Trump's efforts regarding safety in Washington D.C., stating: "President Trump is working to ensure our nation's capital becomes a safe city once again. Yet the Democrats and the mainstream media are acting like this is somehow a bad thing. They constantly prioritize criminals over law-abiding citizens."

Later that day, Wied criticized Rep. Delia Ramirez's remarks about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), writing: "The shameful comments by @repdeliaramirez calling ICE a terrorist organization show where her true loyalties lie. Anyone who compares American law enforcement officers to Al Qaeda and Hamas has no place in Congress. She should resign now."

On August 14, Wied highlighted his visit to Seneca Foods in Gillett: "It was great to visit Seneca Foods in Gillett where they prep and can green beans from over 66 farms — many of the farms being 3rd or 4th generation. I was very impressed to see the production in action and the high quality service that the plant has been providing for decades."

Wied represents his district after defeating Kristin Lyerly in the 2024 general election with approximately 57% of the vote.
