City of De Pere issued the following announcement on Aug. 6
The City of De Pere is reconstructing James Street from Broadway Street to Wisconsin Street this year as part of the streetscaping project. This project includes the removal of all the brick within the project area. Brick is being replaced by stamped colored concrete. Bricks not salvaged will be removed and discarded by the contractor.
To be more sustainable, the City is offering free brick for salvaging by private parties. Please contact the City of De Pere Engineering Department Kelly Demeny (920-339-4072x2234) or Eric Rakers (920-339- 4060) if you are interested. Brick salvaging can begin on Monday, August 10th. It is imperative to coordinate with the City Staff as certain areas can be salvaged the week of August 10th while others must wait until August 17th. Areas for salvaging will be barricaded and taped off.
