City of De Pere recently issued the following announcement.
Reminder that next week is large item curbside collection. We encourage you to read the guidelines below carefully to ensure your items will be picked up. Thank you!
WHAT CAN I PUT OUT TO THE CURB?
Place items on the terrace area by your curb, not in the street. Crews WILL collect large household rubbish items including: furniture (couch, mattress, box spring, recliners, tables), scrap metal (washer, dryer, oven), and other household items (lawn mowers, ladders, shelves, etc.). Crews WILL NOT accept small appliances (microwaves, coffee makers, blenders, etc), electronics (computers, speakers, etc) or Freon containing appliances (fridge, freezer, dehumidifier, air conditioner). This link gives more details on acceptable items: https://loom.ly/QTzX6Ek
If you leave out an item we do not accept, it will be left at the curb.
WHEN DO I NEED TO HAVE MY ITEMS AT THE CURB?
To ensure pick-up, you MUST have items put out prior to 6:30 am on Monday, June 14. Do not begin placing items to the curb until June 12, as not to interfere with other city operations.
WHEN WILL MY ITEMS BE PICKED UP?
Beginning the morning of June 14, Crews will do ONE sweep of the entire City throughout the week, going down each street only once. While your items will be picked up at some point in the coming days, the timeframe crews will reach your particular street throughout the week is unknown based on numerous variables, like weather, the volume of garbage in particular areas that may require more or less time to finish, and staff availability to conduct regular department tasks (garbage pick-up, etc.).
A NOTE ABOUT METAL COLLECTION
If you have metal items out for collection, keep in mind that a second truck will come by and collect those items a bit later for metal recycling.
WHAT IF I MISSED OUT AND DID NOT PUT ITEMS TO THE CURB?
Our next curbside pick-up is not until Sept. 2021. However, we have a drop-off site open in De Pere on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which you can utilize and bring items to yourself. This is scheduled to be open through November. A link with information can be found here: https://loom.ly/_LrE0as
