Sen. Rob Cowles has announced that the applications to the 2021 Energy Innovation Grant Program are now open.

"@PSCWisconsin is now accepting applications for $10 million in Energy Innovation Grants. Last year, this program funded a number of unique requests in Northeast Wisconsin, including projects at Clintonville School District and Foremost Farms in Appleton," Cowles tweeted.

Questions about the Energy Innovation Grants should be submitted to OEI@wisconsin.gov by Dec. 10. Applications to receive one of the grants are due on Jan. 14.

PSC Wisconsin's mission is to ensure reliable, safe and equitable access to utility and broadband services.

Foremost Farms' Appleton location has implemented 11 new energy efficiency projects over the last two years. These projects include upgrading lighting, fixing leaks and improving the air systems, and have resulted in saving over $78,000 each year on energy costs. Two of its facilities – Appleton and Plover – both have been awarded the Energy Efficient Excellence Award by Wisconsin Focus on Energy. Foremost Farms has also been recognized by the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council for the past seven years as a Green Professional as a part of their Green Masters Program. The program is all about assessing sustainability initiatives benchmarks.
