The Green Bay Action Sports Organization (GBASO) is seeking all the help it can get after leaders were recently informed the group has just 60 days to vacate the building that houses the only BMX and indoor skateboard park in the area.

The Ashwaubenon building that has housed the organization for the last eight years is being sold.

"We need to find a new home," GBASO President Paul Fruzyna said in a video recently posted to Facebook. "We'd like to own our own building in the future so that we can own our future."

The group has started a GoFundMe page to aid in securing a new location, a recent Fox11Online report said. When the time comes, leaders have also asked volunteers to help in making the move.

Currently, the last day the facility will be open for skating is April 11. Fruzyna and company plan to begin moving equipment soon after that.

As countdown day draws near, kids and adults alike have openly shared their frustrations over seeing the place go. 

"GBASO makes it really fun, and all the workers help you out and get you to push yourself and try new stuff, and it's a really encouraging place," fifth-grader Reyelle Seibel told WeAreGreenBay.com.

"There's a lot of kids that grew up in this place, and it means a lot to them," GBASO Operations Director Chad Brinker said. "They have all kinds of feelings, we all do. It's exciting and sad and it's just a big change."

Through it all, Fruzyna has sought to remain positive. 

"It's something that we thought would happen someday, but always hoped never would," he said in the video.

While Fruzyna said the group is considering all options, some have suggested the old Shopko building in De Pere as a perfect new location.
