Of the 411 people living in Mattoon in 2020, 48.4 percent (199) were women and 51.6 percent (212) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Green Bay Reporter.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 16. In the 65 and over age range, there were 32 females and 23 males.
