Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) has called on President Biden to take stronger action in response to recent attacks by Iranian proxies in the Middle East. Gallagher, who serves on both the House Armed Services Committee and House Intelligence Committee, criticized the administration's handling of the situation, stating that the current approach is failing to deter future attacks.

In a statement released today, Gallagher highlighted the alarming increase in attacks on U.S. military personnel by Iranian-backed terrorists. He stated, "Since October 17, Iranian-backed terrorists have launched at least 41 separate attacks targeting U.S. military personnel that have injured at least 45 Americans."

Gallagher specifically pointed to the recent strikes on an American MQ-9 unmanned aircraft in Yemen and the targeting of U.S. troops in Iraq and Syria. He criticized the administration's response, stating, "Two weeks ago, President Biden responded to these attacks by striking an Iranian-linked storage facility. This was a wholly inadequate response and, to no surprise, did not deter future attacks."

The congressman expressed concern that the current approach will only encourage more attacks against U.S. assets and servicemembers in the region. He argued that the President must restore deterrence in the Middle East by demonstrating overwhelming strength and reimposing a maximum pressure campaign against Iran and their terrorist proxies.

Gallagher concluded his statement by emphasizing the need for the Biden administration to change its strategy.
