In 2022-23 school year, white students had highest representation in Brown County districts

The majority of students in Brown County districts were white in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of the 42,770 students attending Brown County district schools, 63.6% were white. Hispanic students were the second largest ethnic group among Brown County's districts, making up 17.6% of the student body.

In the previous school year, white students were also the most common group in Brown County districts, representing 64.5% of the student body.

Green Bay Area Public School District had the most even distribution of races among county districts, which included 38.6% of white students, 32.8% of Hispanic students, 8.6% of African American students, 8.4% of Asian students, 8.2% of multiracial students, and 0.1% of Pacific Islander students.

In the 2022-23 school year, the total number of students enrolled in school districts in the county dropped to 1.3% compared to the previous year.
