Green Bay officials have released important guidelines for the upcoming Spring Loose Leaf Collection. Residents are advised to take note of the set deadline for placing yard waste at the curb for final collection. According to the city, any yard waste put out after May 12 will not be collected.

Residents are urged to adhere to city ordinances regarding yard waste disposal to avoid citations. Public Works staff will be monitoring for violations, including the improper placement of yard waste that could lead to environmental and safety hazards.

Raking leaves into the street is strongly discouraged due to its negative impact on stormwater pollution and the potential for flooding. Additionally, piles of leaves in the street pose a danger to young children. Residents are also reminded not to obstruct collection crews by piling yard waste near trees, poles, or mailboxes.

To facilitate proper disposal, the City of Green Bay has established Yard Waste Drop-Off Centers that will be operational daily from April 1 until Thanksgiving Day. Residents can bring loose leaves, grass clippings, and garden waste to the designated drop-off sites located at 2530 East Shore Drive and 1470 Hurlbut Street.

It is emphasized that residents must adhere to these guidelines to ensure a smooth and efficient Spring Loose Leaf Collection process. Failure to comply may result in fees for collection or other penalties. For more information on collection routes, residents are encouraged to visit the city's interactive collection map at https://greenbaywi.gov/yardwaste.
