The Green Bay Police Department has announced the appointment of new commanders for its Investigative and Professional Standards Divisions. Inspector Shannon Seymer-Tabaska will serve as Commander of the Investigative Division, while Lieutenant Rick Belanger will become Commander of the Professional Standards Division.
Seymer-Tabaska, who brings with her 33 years of law enforcement experience, has a strong background in various law enforcement roles and holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Chief Chris Davis expressed his excitement about Seymer-Tabaska joining the team, highlighting her commitment to community policing and leadership qualities.
In a statement, Seymer-Tabaska expressed her dedication to developing leadership based on integrity, transparency, and collaboration, emphasizing her role as a servant leader. She stated, "I have learned that success is born out of the ability to lead, recognize, and develop leadership in others so they may carry forward the law enforcement legacy."
On the other hand, Belanger, with 25 years of law enforcement experience, has been serving as an acting Commander of the Professional Services Division since November 2023. Davis praised Belanger's ethical leadership and experience within the department, stating that he is well-respected both internally and externally.
Belanger shared his enthusiasm for his new role, stating, "I have been honored to take a variety of positions within the agency, many of which have been in a leadership role. I believe that my style of leadership has set an incredible example for many, and I am excited to continue that journey as a Commander."
The swearing-in ceremony for Commander Seymer-Tabaska and the promotion of Commander Belanger is scheduled to take place next month.
