The Green Bay Police Department (GBPD) recently held a promotional and swearing-in ceremony at Lambeau Field, where nine positions were promoted in various ranks. Among those promoted were individuals in the ranks of Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and Commander. Additionally, the GBPD welcomed a Patrol Officer and Commander through lateral transfers from other Wisconsin agencies.
Chief Chris Davis of the Green Bay Police Department highlighted the significance of strong leadership in modern policing, stating, “The challenges of policing in the 21st Century make strong leadership more important than ever in our profession. Today’s event was a great opportunity to see the next generation of Green Bay Police leadership take on their new roles.”
Among those recognized at the ceremony were individuals with years of dedicated service in law enforcement. Investigations Commander Shannon Seymer-Tabaska, with 33 years of service, hails from the Milwaukee Police Department. Professional Standards Commander Rick Belanger, with 25 years of service, has served within the Green Bay Police Department. Various other officers were also acknowledged for their years of commitment to law enforcement.
The event also marked the addition of two recruit officers who will be graduating this year from a Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board-certified 720-hour law enforcement academy program, bringing the total number of sworn staff at GBPD to 178.
