The Green Bay Public Works Department has announced a temporary alteration to the operating schedule of the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge, located at Dousman and Main Streets. This change is being implemented for preventative maintenance activities. On Thursday, May 16, 2024, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., mariners are required to provide a two-hour advance notice for bridge operation directly to the Bridge Tender.

During this period, motorists are informed that the bridge will remain open to vehicular traffic. However, single-lane closures will occur, potentially leading to traffic back-ups. The affected area spans from North Broadway to North Washington Street along Main Street.

While no detour will be posted during this time, access to residences and businesses will be maintained. All lane and work operations are dependent on weather conditions and may be subject to change. Motorists are advised to anticipate back-ups, exercise caution while driving through the work zone, and consider alternate routes if possible.

The Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge at Mile 1.58, over the Fox River in Green Bay, Wisconsin, is expected to experience vessel impacts due to these changes.
