The City of Green Bay, in collaboration with Friends of Bay Beach Amusement Park, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new all-inclusive playground at Bay Beach Amusement Park on Monday, June 10 at 11:30 a.m. The playground is located just west of the Zippin Pippin.
This project has been made possible through the support of Green Bay Packaging’s George Kress Foundation, McDonalds Companies, and Wisconsin Public Service Foundation.
For five generations, Bay Beach Amusement Park has served as a community destination for individuals of all ages and abilities. While existing playgrounds in the city meet ADA guidelines for accessibility, this new all-inclusive playground aims to provide an environment where everyone in the family can enjoy recreational activities together. This development is expected to transform previously unused space into a venue that encourages social interaction, play, and memory-making throughout the year.
The playground features specialized equipment designed to ensure safer play for all users. Notable installations include a ZipVenture Duo & Freedom, Konnection Swing, Freedom Swing, Brava Universal Swing, Orb Rocker, Innova Rocker, Inclusive Orbit, Volta Inclusive Spinner, Serenity Spot, musical components, Extreme MOVMNT structures, steel slide, roller slide, playspaces for different age groups including a tot lot and playhouse with tunnel, as well as shade canopies.
Play is recognized as crucial for children’s development of social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills—skills that are foundational for their future adult lives.
