The Green Bay Metro Fire Department has announced the receipt of an Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The grant totals $755,900, comprising $687,181.81 from FEMA and a $68,718.19 local government match.

The primary objective of the AFG is to address the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and non-affiliated emergency medical service organizations. Since its inception in 2001, AFG has supported firefighters and other first responders by providing essential equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training, and other resources necessary for safeguarding both the public and emergency personnel from fire-related hazards.

This federal grant will be allocated towards ongoing paramedic training for Green Bay Metro Firefighters.
