UW-Green Bay Expands Access to Regional Professional Training in the Sheboygan Area

GREEN BAY, Wis. — UW-Green Bay is offering five professional workshops on topical subjects, suitable for entrepreneurs and professionals with responsibilities in operations, human resource management, or new business development.

Workshops are $39 each or $159 for all five and will take place on the UW-Green Bay Sheboygan Campus from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. beginning this month.

“Our goal is to provide practical, locally-focused education that responds to the specific inquiries our community has requested,” says Jess Lambrecht, executive officer of the Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Training. “We’re delivering a training series to meet the unique needs of the Sheboygan community by ensuring that education is accessible and affordable for everyone.”

Topics and dates include:

- Leading a Remote Workforce – Tuesday, September 24: This session will provide practical strategies and insights on leading remote teams, such as fostering communication, maintaining productivity, and building team culture in a virtual setting. Instructor: Sheri Treu, Director of Organizational Effectiveness at Menasha Corp.

- Healthcare Burnout – Wednesday, October 9: This workshop addresses workplace stressors like runaway workload, job insecurity, conflict or rapid changes in technology or job expectations. Instructor: Ben Biddick, Author, Iraq Veteran & Crisis Negotiator.

- QuickBooks Online Tips & Tricks – Wednesday, October 23: This training includes hands-on demonstrations and practical scenarios to ensure participants leave with actionable skills applicable to day-to-day operations. Instructor: Jessie Bildings, CAAS Assistant Controller at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP.

- Demystifying AI in Business – Monday, November 4: Designed for professionals seeking clarity on how artificial intelligence (AI) can revolutionize operations, drive innovation and enhance decision-making. The workshop explores practical applications of AI in various business domains—from automating routine tasks to harnessing predictive analytics for strategic insights. Instructor: Paul Belanger, Associate Professor of English at UW-Green Bay.

- Grant Writing – Tuesday November 12: This session equips professionals with essential skills and strategies needed to craft successful grant applications including identifying funding opportunities structuring proposals articulating organizational needs effectively. Instructor Kerry Kuenzi Ph.D., Professor of Public & Environmental Affairs at UW-Green Bay.
