Johanna Wicklund, chief executive officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bay and Lakes Region, received the Community Service Award at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s fall Council of Trustees reception and dinner last week. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions and provided exceptional service to communities in Northeast Wisconsin.
Wicklund expressed appreciation during her remarks at the event. “At the Boys and Girls Club, I witness countless young people who discover their strengths and step boldly into their future,” Wicklund said. “Club kids are resilient, creative, compassionate, our future leaders and our present-day problem-solvers. America needs club kids. This community remains committed to ensure young people have the opportunity to be great.”
With over 20 years in youth development, Wicklund has served as CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bay & Lakes Region since February 2024. She oversees 10 locations across Door County, Greater Green Bay, and Shawano County.
Wicklund is a graduate of UW-Green Bay with a bachelor’s degree in psychology earned in December 1999. She began her career with the Boys & Girls Club after learning about it during an art therapy internship as a student at UW-Green Bay.
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay enrolls around 11,500 students across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs each year and provides continuing education for approximately 100,000 learners annually through four campus locations in Northeast Wisconsin.
