The Green Bay Packers, NFL, and nonprofit organization GENYOUth have announced a new event called "Taste of the Draft," set to take place on April 23, 2025. This event will occur on the eve of the NFL Draft and aims to highlight Wisconsin's culinary traditions while raising funds for student hunger initiatives in the state.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, alongside Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy and representatives from GENYOUth and Schreiber Foods, made the announcement in Green Bay. The event will be hosted at Schreiber Foods headquarters in downtown Green Bay.
"Taste of the Draft" will showcase Wisconsin cuisine, focusing on supper club culture. It is modeled after the "Taste of the NFL" event held during Super Bowl weekend. Mark Murphy expressed enthusiasm about sharing Wisconsin's supper club culture while supporting local schools in addressing food insecurity.
Andrew Zimmern, a noted culinary personality, will host the event. Attendees can expect a variety of culinary experiences featuring traditional Wisconsin fare and entertainment with opportunities to meet Packers and NFL Legends.
Peter O'Reilly, NFL executive vice president of club business, international and league events, emphasized that this initiative is part of their commitment to positively impact local communities by highlighting Wisconsin's heritage while benefiting GENYOUth's efforts against student hunger.
Proceeds from "Taste of the Draft" will support GENYOUth's programs aimed at increasing access to nutritious school meals for children in need across Wisconsin. Ann Marie Krautheim, CEO of GENYOUth, highlighted the importance of providing children with essential nourishment for their well-being and academic success.
Nearly half of Wisconsin students qualify for free or reduced-price school meals due to household income levels. GENYOUth has already provided grants to over 500 schools in Wisconsin, enhancing access to millions of meals annually.
The event invites participation from well-regarded Wisconsin supper clubs. Interested chefs and operators are encouraged to contact Jennifer Lauerman for more information.
Sponsors for "Taste of the Draft" include Schreiber Foods as presenting sponsor, along with American Family Insurance and several family foundations. Sponsorship opportunities remain available for interested parties.
GENYOUth is dedicated to promoting youth health through nutrition and physical activity initiatives across U.S. schools. Founded by America's dairy farmers and the NFL, it aims to end student hunger by increasing access to healthy school meals among food-insecure students.
