During a recent event held by the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Nick Reckinger was honored with the Community Service Award. Reckinger, who serves as co-head coach of Bay Nordic, received recognition for his contributions to communities in Northeast Wisconsin.
The award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions and performed exceptional community work. It acknowledges those whose service has positively impacted the region.
Reckinger's involvement in cross-country skiing began in high school and continued through college when he volunteered as an assistant coach for a junior team. As co-head coach of Bay Nordic's High School and Middle School program, his leadership has been pivotal to the team's success. Under his guidance, the team has won multiple state championships and sent skiers to national competitions. His commitment to fostering young athletes' skills and sportsmanship has helped establish a competitive program.
Nick Reckinger's impact on the Bay Nordic community extends beyond coaching. He has significantly contributed to creating an inclusive environment for young skiers and has overseen numerous volunteers, helping deliver enriching experiences for over 150 children involved in Bay Nordic’s Youth Program.
In addition to recognizing Reckinger, UW-Green Bay welcomed two new members to its Council of Trustees: Matt Adamczyk and Patti Habeck. These appointments align with the university's mission to involve experienced leaders.
Matt Adamczyk, a UW-Green Bay alumnus from 2022, holds a role at Microsoft as Principal Technical Program Manager within the Strategic Missions and Technologies division. With over ten years at Microsoft, Adamczyk brings expertise from various technical roles. He also contributes significantly at Titletown Tech by supporting high-growth ventures across Wisconsin.
Patti Habeck serves as President and CEO of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, overseeing hunger relief efforts across thirty-five counties. Her background includes roles that focus on community engagement and social change. She is recognized for her leadership in tackling complex issues through collaboration.
