The Green Bay Packers have announced the addition of T Spencer Rolland to their practice squad. This decision was confirmed by General Manager Brian Gutekunst on Tuesday.
Rolland, who stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 306 pounds, began his professional journey with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent from the University of North Carolina on May 10, 2024. However, he was released following training camp. His college career commenced at Harvard from 2018 to 2021 before transferring to the Tar Heels for his final two years (2022-23). Throughout his collegiate tenure, Rolland started all 43 games he participated in.
During his last season in college, Rolland contributed significantly to an offense that ranked highly across several metrics: it averaged 299.2 passing yards per game (14th in NCAA and first in ACC), 192.1 rushing yards per game (19th in NCAA and third in ACC), and totaled 491.2 yards per game (7th in NCAA and first in ACC). The team also scored an average of 34.5 points per game (20th in NCAA and second in ACC). Notably, Rolland blocked for Omarion Hampton, who became the nation's fifth-leading rusher with a total of 1,504 yards.
His performances earned him All-ACC honorable mention recognition in 2023 and first-team All-Ivy League honors back in 2021. With the Packers, Rolland will don jersey number 72.
