The ongoing lease discussions between the City of Green Bay and the Green Bay Packers have taken a new turn. The city officials have expressed satisfaction with the Packers' response to some of their concerns regarding the team's commitment to Lambeau Field.

"We’re pleased the Packers have heard some of the City’s concerns and are making significant commitments about their continued term and investment in Lambeau – it’s a positive step," stated Mayor Eric Genrich, Council President Brian Johnson, and Council Vice President Bill Galvin.

Despite this progress, city leaders emphasized that such a crucial issue should not be debated publicly. They are looking forward to negotiating directly with the team in good faith.

"That said, this issue is too critical to the City’s future to debate in the media, and we look forward to engaging in a good faith negotiation directly with the team," they added.
