The Green Bay Packers have placed running back MarShawn Lloyd on the reserve/non-football illness list. In a corresponding move, wide receiver Alex McGough has been signed to the practice squad. These transactions were announced by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.

Alex McGough, a first-year player from Florida International University, returns to Green Bay after spending 2023 on the Packers' practice squad and part of the 2024 offseason with the team. He was initially drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft as pick number 220 overall. McGough has also been part of the practice squads for both the Seahawks and Houston Texans and was on the Texans' active roster during Weeks 2-6 in 2019, although he did not play in any games during that period.

In 2023, McGough played for the Birmingham Stallions in the United States Football League (USFL), where he earned league MVP honors and led his team to a USFL title. He will wear jersey number 16 for the Packers.
