The Green Bay Packers have named Terry Laube of Owen-Withee High School in Owen, Wisconsin, as the Packers High School Coach of the Week. Laube has been the head coach of the Owen-Withee Blackhawks for 36 seasons and recently led his team to an undefeated 12-0 season. The season concluded with a victory in the 2024 WIAA 8-player football state title, marking Laube's fourth state championship and the program's first since transitioning from 11-player football in 2020.

Reflecting on the team's success, Laube stated, "These boys had a goal, and they had a dream... This is a group of kids that is really unselfish; they played for one another throughout the course of the year."

After facing challenges during their transition to 8-player football and being ineligible for playoffs despite an undefeated record in 2022, this year's team was motivated to achieve a state championship. "With the support of the community... I think we are back on the right track," Laube commented.

Laube is an alumnus of Owen-Withee High School, where he played running back and defensive back before continuing his athletic career at the University of Wisconsin - Superior as a safety. His achievements include NAIA All-American honors and holding a school record for tackles. He also received a tryout with the Dallas Cowboys and was inducted into both UW-Superior Hall of Fame (2003) and Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame (2019).

Laube acknowledged others' contributions to his recognition: "When you win something like this, it's because of other people... It's because of the coaching staff I have and the kids I was able to coach this year."

The coaching staff under Laube consists of Harry Mitchell, Rick Englebretson, Dylan Kaae, Jeff Strzok, Caleb Green, Zach Feind, Albert Goerlitz, Jeff Greschner, Steve Kadolph, and Justin Mueller. Outside coaching duties, Laube runs Hanson Masonry & Concrete LLC in Owen alongside his wife Cathy.

The Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week Program will recognize coaches throughout high school football season by awarding them various items including a $1,000 donation from both Green Bay Packers NFL Foundation toward their school's football program.
