The Green Bay Packers and Festival Foods will host the 18th annual Festival of Lights at Lambeau Field on Saturday, December 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. This free event for families will begin in the Lambeau Field Atrium with holiday movies and cartoons, holiday card making, performances by area high school choirs, and photo opportunities with Santa Claus.
Festival Foods will provide cookies for families to decorate. Attendees wishing to purchase sugar cookies should note that the event is cashless. Volunteers will collect toys and donations for Toys for Tots, encouraging attendees to donate new, unwrapped toys.
At 6:30 p.m., activities will move to Harlan Plaza for the formal tree lighting ceremony. The chosen tree will be harvested on Monday morning, December 2, in De Pere with assistance from Miron Construction and erected on Harlan Plaza. It will be decorated later in the week with over 10,000 lights. The selection was made through a submission process where fans sent photos of their trees along with reasons why they should be chosen.
Neil and Julie Basten have donated their spruce tree for display at Lambeau Field this season. Purchased as a six-foot-tall tree two decades ago and decorated by their family over the years, it now stands over 50 feet tall. The Bastens expressed excitement about sharing their tradition with the Packers and the community.
In appreciation of their donation, Neil and Julie Basten will receive four tickets to the Packers-Saints game on December 23.
