Green Bay, WI – Mayor Eric Genrich is set to join Alex Galt, the City’s Clean Energy Connector, and Mou Vang, Asset Manager for the Wisconsin Housing Preservation Corporation, on December 11, 2024. The event will highlight Green Bay's achievements in clean energy initiatives at a press conference.

The conference will announce two significant milestones. First is the launch of Energize Green Bay, a new initiative focused on expanding clean energy access and improving energy efficiency across the city. This initiative aims to foster sustainability throughout Green Bay.

The second milestone is celebrating the first anniversary of Green Bay's Clean Energy Plan. Over the past year, this plan has successfully reduced carbon emissions and promoted renewable energy within the community.

Additionally, Green Bay will be recognized as a SolSmart Silver Community during this event. This designation acknowledges efforts to streamline solar energy development and support solar businesses and residents.

For further information about these initiatives or to attend the event at Villa West—an apartment community with solar panels funded partially by federal tax credits—interested parties can contact Alex Galt via email at Alex.Galt@greenbaywi.gov.
