The Green Bay Packers and Network Health honored U.S. Air Force veteran Elizabeth Disalvo and her son, U.S. Army Sergeant Jake Disalvo, during Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears as part of 'Operation Fan Mail.' This initiative, now in its 18th season, acknowledges military families and veterans at each Packers home game.

Elizabeth Disalvo began her military career by joining the Army in 1988 before transitioning to the Air Force a year later. She served in Iraq as a dental hygienist and achieved the rank of chief master sergeant. Her service included various humanitarian missions worldwide. After more than 35 years of service, she retired in 2023.

Jake Disalvo followed his mother's example by joining the Army in 2020. Currently stationed in Hawaii as a sergeant, he has completed tours in South Korea and the Philippines.

The Disalvos are lifelong Packers fans from Mequon, Wisconsin. They attended Sunday's game with Elizabeth's other son, Dominic, and his wife, Tricia. Jake nominated his mother for this recognition.

"Operation Fan Mail," initiated in 2007, honors active duty members or veterans along with their families at Packers games. Families receive four tickets to the game courtesy of Network Health and are recognized on video boards before kickoff. Over 17 seasons, 216 families have been acknowledged through this program.

To participate next season, interested families or friends can submit a short essay explaining why they should be saluted. Essays should be sent to Operation Fan Mail via mail or online submission.

Families eligible for recognition include those with a member currently serving or who is a veteran from any branch of the military.
