The Green Bay Packers have nominated Riley Vertz as their representative for the Maxwell Football Club's inaugural Girls National Flag Football Player of the Year award. This recognition involves all 32 NFL teams, each selecting a female high school flag football player who exemplifies exceptional on-field performance, academic success, and community service.

Riley Vertz is a senior at Kettle Moraine High School in Wales, Wisconsin. As team captain and leading scorer for the Lasers' girls flag football team, she led her team to secure the top seed in this year's postseason tournament. Vertz maintains a GPA of 3.9 and actively participates in volunteer work that benefits both her school and community.

Mark Wolpert, executive director of the Maxwell Football Club, expressed pride in continuing their mission to promote all aspects of football while highlighting young women's efforts in flag football. He stated: "The opportunity to continue the Maxwell Club's mission of promoting all aspects of football and amplifying the amazing efforts of young women who are pioneering the game of flag football is a great honor." He also commended those who have supported the game's development and emphasized that opportunities for girls will keep expanding with support from organizations like the NFL.

The winner will be announced later this month at the 88th Maxwell Awards ceremony scheduled for March 14, 2025, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

Founded in 1935, The Maxwell Football Club is America's oldest organization dedicated to recognizing excellence across high school, collegiate, and professional levels. It also promotes academic excellence and leadership through various programs supported by corporate partners such as NFL Foundation and others.
