The Green Bay Packers will hold a literacy event titled "Timeout for Reading" at Lambeau Field on March 1. The event, open to the public from 9 a.m. to noon, aims to promote reading among children.
Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy story time with Ashlee Alicea, author of "Luka and Little Feather." A Packers celebrity will also participate by reading a children's book. Additionally, there will be a reading in Spanish.
Children from pre-K through 5th grade can receive free books and bookmarks while supplies last. The Howe Community Resource Center, Bellin Health, and Oneida Reads are contributing by providing literacy activity booths for visitors.
Special areas will be set up for participants who wish to read their new books or bring one from home. Access to the event is available through the American Family Insurance Gate or the Miller Lite Gate on the east side of the Atrium.
This event is part of Green Bay Packers Give Back, an initiative aimed at community outreach. It contributes to the overall charitable impact of the Packers, which exceeded $13 million last year.
