As the Wisconsin Spring Election approaches, the City of Green Bay is working to ensure voters have accurate information before in-person voting begins on April 1, 2025. This effort comes in response to misleading mailers circulating among residents.
The city has clarified several key points. The election date is confirmed as Tuesday, April 1, 2025, contrary to claims that it is on April 11. Additionally, absentee ballot requests must be submitted by Friday, March 28 at 5:00 PM; they cannot be made at any time as some sources have suggested.
In-person absentee voting will take place from March 18 to March 28. It will not extend until election day itself. Voters should note that while online and by-mail registration deadlines have passed, they can still register in person at the Clerk’s office until March 28 or at polling places on election day.
Absentee ballots need to be received by 8:00 PM on election day. Misleading information has suggested otherwise. Voters are encouraged to deliver their ballots personally or use designated drop boxes.
The city advises caution regarding unofficial communications about voting that may contain false information. Official updates are available on the City of Green Bay's website and the Wisconsin Elections Commission website.
