The Green Bay Packers have announced the signing of guard Aaron Banks. The news was confirmed by General Manager Brian Gutekunst on Tuesday.

Aaron Banks, standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 325 pounds, is entering his fifth year in the NFL. He played college football at the University of Notre Dame and was selected in the second round as the 48th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. During his tenure with the 49ers, Banks appeared in a total of 53 games, starting in 43 of them at left guard. He also participated in seven postseason games, starting six.

Throughout his three seasons as a starter from 2022 to 2024, Banks contributed to an offensive line that helped San Francisco achieve notable rankings. The team ranked second in total offense with an average of 380.1 yards per game during this period. They were first in yards per play with an average of 6.3 and third in yards per carry averaging 4.73. Additionally, they tied for fifth place for sacks allowed with a total of 101 and were sixth in rushing offense with an average of 135.5 yards per game.

In the year 2023 alone, Aaron Banks started all sixteen games as part of a historic achievement for the San Francisco team. That season marked their distinction as the first NFL team to have a running back (Christian McCaffrey), two wide receivers (Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel), and a tight end (George Kittle) each accumulate over one thousand yards from scrimmage within a single season.
