According to the city of Green Bay, mobile food vendors must apply for a license by April 3 if they wish to operate food trucks or trailers where food is prepared. Licenses are issued by the City Clerk’s office, and applicants are required to comply with city regulations as outlined in Chapter 10, Article XIV of the ordinance. The processing time for these applications is approximately two to three weeks, and vendors must provide a government-issued ID.
Direct sellers and solicitors also face application deadlines. Direct sellers need to apply for a permit by April 10. While direct sellers operate from fixed locations, solicitors move from place to place. The fees for direct seller permits are $100 per month or $350 annually, whereas solicitor licenses cost $25 per month or $100 annually. Applications require identification, background checks, and a passport-sized photo for solicitors. Sales in city parks are prohibited, and applicants must appear in person to ensure compliance with city ordinances.
Liquor establishments have until April 3 to submit applications for temporary expansions of their licensed premises. These expansions can last up to seven days between April 1 and May 1, 2025. Approval is required from both the Protection & Policy Committee and the Common Council. Applications must be submitted at least one week before the committee meeting, with all expansions needing prior approval from the Inspections Department.
