The Green Bay Packers have added wide receiver Mecole Hardman to their roster, as announced by General Manager Brian Gutekunst on Thursday. Hardman joins the Packers as a seasoned player from the University of Georgia.

Mecole Hardman, standing at 5-10 and weighing 187 pounds, was initially drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. In his career, Hardman participated in 79 regular season games, starting 28 of them, primarily with the Chiefs except for a brief stint with the New York Jets in 2023. Over his career, he has achieved 178 receptions, amassed 2,302 yards with an average of 12.9 yards per catch, and scored 16 touchdowns. Additionally, Hardman has tallied 190 rushing yards from 26 carries, averaging 7.3 yards per carry, and scored three touchdowns.

His performance in special teams is notable, as he maintained a 23.8-yard average on 45 kick returns, including a touchdown, and a 9.2-yard average on 89 punt returns with a touchdown. In postseason play for Kansas City, Hardman made appearances in 14 games, with four starts, collecting 27 receptions for 288 yards at an average of 10.7 yards per reception and scoring three touchdowns. He also added 105 rushing yards on 13 attempts, averaging 8.1 yards per carry, with one touchdown. His contributions on special teams extended into the playoffs, where he averaged 22.3 yards on 14 kick returns and 12.3 yards on seven punt returns.

Hardman’s move to the Packers aims to strengthen their receiving cohort and add depth to their special teams.
