The Green Bay Area Public School (GBAPS) District has announced that three seniors from East High School, enrolled in the City Stadium Automotive program, have earned awards at the NWTC Tech Challenge held on April 11, 2025. The announcement was made via a press release on the same day.
According to the press release by GBAPS, Colton Dean won a gold medal and a $1,000 scholarship to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC). Alex Olea received a silver medal, while Jaime Guzman was awarded a bronze medal. The competition encompasses various fields such as automotive, business, construction, digital arts, manufacturing, and STEM. Scholarships are awarded to gold medal winners.
Founded in 1912, NWTC is a two-year public institution serving nearly 23,000 individuals annually. As a leading provider of education and training in the region, NWTC offers over 200 degree programs. In 2023 alone, it graduated 2,296 students and continues to impact the community by training approximately 7,750 workers and offering dual credit opportunities to over 5,500 high school students.
East High School provides diverse academic and extracurricular programs aimed at preparing students for college and careers. Among its specialized programs is the Fine Arts Institute and the City Stadium Automotive program which offers hands-on automotive training with college credit through NWTC. East High has been recognized as a GRAMMY Signature Schools semifinalist in 2016.
