The Green Bay Conservation Corps has announced an upcoming event designed to engage the community in Earth Day activities. Following a large volunteer project, the organization will host an Eco-Fair on April 26 at McAuliffe Park from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Eco-Fair will offer a range of environmentally-friendly activities. Attendees can participate in constructing bug hotels, creating party popper seed bombs with native species, and making arts and crafts from materials sourced from invasive species. The event will also feature a nature-themed scavenger hunt and guided hikes.
Numerous environmental organizations will participate, showcasing their contributions to ecological preservation. A bioblitz, led by the Baird Creek Foundation, will start at 8:00 a.m. and continue throughout the Eco-Fair as part of the City Nature Challenge initiative. "CC’s Steaks and Cakes food truck will be parked on site throughout the event; cash, debit, and credit will be accepted."
Press representatives are invited to meet with staff at the Christa McAuliffe Park shelter at 10:00 a.m.
The Green Bay Conservation Corps operates as an AmeriCorps program under the City of Green Bay, focusing on city parks and greenways. "If any citizens are interested in joining the GBCC, applications for the seasonal positions are open." More information is available on the official Green Bay website or on social media platforms under @GB_ConservationCorps.
