Green Bay recently hosted the 2025 NFL Draft, an event that drew significant attention and participation. Mayor Eric Genrich expressed gratitude towards the residents of Green Bay, local public safety teams, city employees, business districts, the Village of Ashwaubenon, Brown County, the Packers, the local organizing committee, Discover Green Bay, and the NFL for their contributions.

Mayor Genrich acknowledged Packers president Mark Murphy for his role in bringing the NFL Draft to Green Bay, calling it a testament to the city's perseverance. Despite being the smallest city in the league, Green Bay managed to prove skeptics wrong and showcase its capabilities.

The event attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors and millions of viewers, revealing the potential of Green Bay and the entire state of Wisconsin. The mayor commended the hospitality shown by the city's residents, which was illustrated by providing over 2,000 meals to first responders.

Statistics from the event highlight the city's efforts in managing the large crowd. The Green Bay Police Department reported over 100 officers on-site, with only one arrest and eight ejections during the event. The Green Bay Metro Fire Department handled 15 ambulance transports, 71 emergency medical service incidents, and responded to 1 fire incident among 529 public assistance calls. Nearly 20,000 bus trips were provided by Green Bay Metro Transit, marking a 250% increase from usual ridership.

Mayor Genrich concluded by expressing optimism about the city's future, asserting that the community owns not just the Green Bay Packers but its own future as well.
