UW-Green Bay has introduced "Generations in Learning," a new series of workshops aimed at fostering connections between older adults and children. Replacing the previous Grandparents’ University, this initiative welcomes participants such as grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and mentors to engage in shared educational experiences.

The inaugural event, Fly Fishing Adventure Day, is scheduled for Sunday, May 4, 2025. More sessions will follow, with detailed information and registration options available on the program's website.

The university emphasizes community building and shared learning opportunities across ages. Dennis Rockhill, Makerspace Director at Einstein Project, noted, “Some of our most rewarding workshops include youth working with a close adult. Both experience the learning, creativity and enjoyment of a hands-on project. We believe they grow a little closer due to this shared time together.”

Workshops are priced affordably at $49 per session, catering to one child and one adult. Participants can choose to attend any or all of the sessions.

The offerings are diverse and include:

- Fly Fishing Adventure Day at Brown County Reforestation Camp on May 4, 2025, targeting kids aged 9-13, with required adult participants possessing a fishing license.

- Dairy Discovery at Pagels Ponderosa Dairy Farm on June 25, 2025, with sessions for ages 5-13, involving a tour and a dairy-inspired treat.

- Timeless Tales at UW-Green Bay Campus on July 8 or 9, 2025, for ages 7-13, where participants create a storybook.

- Glow & Grow Sign Craft at Brown County STEM Innovation Center on August 6, 2025, for ages 9-13, involves crafting an LED sign.

- Generations in Tune at The Weidner on August 7, 2025, for ages 9-13, exploring music production and performance.
