It marks a rare late-season meeting in Chicago for these NFC North rivals, as their last such encounter was on January 3, 2020. Between 2004 and 2020, the teams have met at Soldier Field in December or January eleven times during regular seasons and once more during the 2010 NFC title game.
In their most recent clash last season, the Bears defeated the Packers at Lambeau Field in a Week 18 regular-season finale on January 5. This victory ended Green Bay's eleven-game winning streak in this historic rivalry and was also the first time Head Coach Matt LaFleur experienced a loss against Chicago.
