Preliminary figures indicate that the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is expected to enroll 11,500 students for the fall 2025 semester, representing a three percent increase from last year. The university reports it has seen a 28% growth in enrollment since 2020, making it the fastest growing institution within the Universities of Wisconsin system. Final enrollment numbers will be released later this fall.
This year, at least 312 more students have enrolled compared to the previous year. The university also served over 100,000 individuals through its Continuing Education and Workforce Training programs during the past year, with projections suggesting further growth in these areas for the current academic cycle.
“Growth is critical to serve what our region needs to be economically successful, but it means so much more,” said UW-Green Bay Chancellor Mike Alexander. “It means more people believe in what UW-Green Bay promises learners – the opportunity to rise to their full potential right here in their own backyard by getting a great education that’s affordable. Our momentum continues to accelerate because we are seeing education through what a modern student wants, and our communities need.”
The university states that its open-access mission allows all students an opportunity to continue their education and aims to align its academic offerings with regional workforce needs. More than three-quarters of graduates remain in the area after completing their studies.
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay operates four campuses across Northeast Wisconsin and offers about 200 degrees, programs, and certificates. It serves undergraduate, graduate, doctoral students as well as those engaged in continuing education each year.
