TIGERTON SCHOOL DISTRICT: Happy Retirement Loretta Raddant

Retirement happy 1000x667

Tigerton School District issued the following announcement on May 25.

This week we'd like to celebrate, congratulate and thank our 2021 retirees for all they have contributed to our schools, our students and our community! Today we are recognizing Loretta Raddant!

Where were you born and raised?

Born in Antigo, raised in Shawano, resided between Gresham and Tilleda in a "hayfield" the past 45 years.  High school graduate of Shawano and college graduate of UWSP for both undergraduate and graduate studies.  I was a stay-at-home mom for a while, then worked as a school secretary at Gresham School for 17 years, and then went to college for 6 years and graduated with a degree as a speech/language pathologist (SLP) in 2013.  I started working at Tigerton School District as my first SLP job at that time until the present, and I also worked at Shawano and currently Montello School Districts part-time.  I am retiring from Montello as well.

Tell us about yourself and your family?

Husband Larry Raddant and we have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and a grandpuppy.

What is a favorite memory or moments you've had at Tigerton Schools?

I love, love, love the students and will miss them and miss my co-workers very much.  My favorite was to see the successes of my students.  It was great to work with parents and grandparents, even more so this past year during virtual speech/language sessions.  So, the people!

What are your plans for retirement?

Projects at home, go on a mission for our church, see grandchildren/family more, hopefully some travel within the US, and always some motorcycle rides (and we increased the size of our garden so we'll see how that goes).  The only problem:  I keep on saying, "I am going to do this after I retire, I am going to do that after I retire, etc."  The problem is there is too much on my list of things to do after I retire and I don't think I can get around to all of them!  Interesting note: My husband, who has worked at his place of employment for almost 60 years (59) and is partially retired, has decided to fully retire when I do - so I am excited that we can spend lots of time together!  Best wishes to everyone in Tigerton!!!  I am sure I will be back to visit because this is part of "home" now.  "Miss Retta"

Thank you for your service to our students! We wish you all the best in your retirement Miss Retta!
