Teachers at a Green Bay school received special recognition for National Teacher Appreciation Day.
May 3 was National Teacher Appreciation Day, and Saint John Paul II Classical School went all out to make sure their teachers felt valuable, a report from WFRV said this week. Just before lunch, each teacher was led blindfolded by students to classic Corvettes provided by the Green Bay Corvette Club. Once inside the luxury vehicles, teachers were driven to Hinterland Brewery to enjoy a special lunch.
Teachers welcomed the surprise extended lunch, and while they were enjoying themselves, parents and volunteers took over teaching duties at the school; the report said. The students were also excited to take part in the event.
“Sometimes it’s hard to fully tell how much you appreciate what someone does, especially as we conclude a really long year,” Patrick McKeown, headmaster of Chesterton Academy, told WFRV. “It’s May, we’re ready for summer break, and we want to show them that we care, we love them, we appreciate all the work they do, inside and outside of school every day.”
“The great success we see at this school is based on our teachers so we really wanted to show them the care and the love that we had for them,” McKeown said.
